Dominique lives up to her name ...

Yes, we are all aware that Dominique will just not take "NO!" for an answer. She'd already been unceremoniously squished, rolled and flattened with a "CLANG!" and a "WHIRRRR!" inside the hydraulic/hammer-anvil/press/wringer being modified by Dr. and her as yet unknown cartooniverse assistant, rumored to be . Not satisfied with the mysteries surrounding the brilliant Doctor's cartooniverse lab presence, Dominique ventured again into the abandoned warehouse. Her cartooniverse heightened senses perceived sound and heat coming from a not-too-distant sector of the building, and she proceeded with some hard-learnt caution. Dominique carefully followed the signals and eventually came upon a well-lit, well-appointed lab. A young purple-haired girl was working, her back to Dominique. The purple-haired girl was busy typing commands and watching the monitor intently. Dominique looked around, saw a stainless steel table, and what appeared to be two very large lamps, hanging above each side of the table. They were, of course, not operating.

"Welcome, Dominique! You know we've been expecting you, Dr. and I. There's so much testing to do!" Purple girl giggled as she said so.

"Testing? Here? What kind ..." Dominique was subdued from behind , by some unknown person or presence in the lab -- at least that's what Dominique though as she was engulfed in sweet darkness.

Dominique awoke several minutes later. She tried to get up, but she was retrained on the steel table [now warm] by ankle and wrist cuffs.

"Oh, Dom ... the Doctor has told me such much about you! She LOVES you to death, hun!" Purple-haired girl cooed. "That's why she wants YOU to test out her new cellular-polymer mirroring agent."

Purple stepped back, swinging her hand out and across like Vanna White, presenting a large set of transparent cylinders. One was filled with an incandescent cobalt blue liquid, the other filled with some clear, thick iridescent goo.

"With a shot of this, your molecules, especially the bio-chemical ones, will now be be virtual mirrors for polymer molecules -- sort of trading the places of the hydrogen and carbon atoms. So instead of being a carbo-hydrate structured entity, you will now be a hydro-carbon based being." She explained patiently. She produced a ginormous hypodermic needle and smiled.

"'Polymer', whispered Dominique to herself. "Polymers are ... are ..." then quite loudly, "... the building ... blocks of plastics! You're changing my bod ... " Purple jammed the needle into Dominique's nylon covered thigh.

" ...into plastic." Purple finished the sentence for Dom.

Dominique fell back feeling weightless and without any motor-control, a partial side-effect of the serum. She felt apprehensive, yet calm, as if she were not in control but certainly not in any real danger.

Purple turned on the lamps hanging at each side of the table. At first, the warmth was pleasant, but it soon got hotter, and hotter. Dominique had been in front of fires, and has known dangerous heat. This radiation was at first unbearable, but by the time Dominique actually had a thought about the intense heat, it became little more than a vibration. Dominique's body was now reacting to the heat not so much from its infrared waves, but from a more basic form of energy that was weakening several types of bonds but strengthening others in Dominique's atoms. Her atoms and molecules were now more metallic and crystalline.

Now, she is not burning. She is melting ...
